Job Title: Power Electronics Engineer
Job Summary:
This position provides power electrical engineering designs for stationary products. This position is responsible for technical requirements assessment, electrical product specification and engineering of the power electronics in stationary products.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance for VP of Marketing Services in all areas of marketing.
- Develop power electronics component specifications.
- Develop circuit designs as required to meet objectives of the products.
- Assess certification requirments and ensure design meets applicable requirements (UL, Telcordia, etc.)
- Prepare technical reports.
- Oversee fabrication of electrical subassemblies for prototypes.
- Oversee outsource power electronic vendor development
- Develop test plans for power electronics portions of stationary solutions.
- Support quality requirements by ensuring quality practices followed.
- Participate in development of FMEAs, DVP&R; and other applicable documentation.
- Release of power electrical parts within stationary solutions.
- Develop electrical schematics and documentation for stationary components.
- Participate in the design of PCBs for low volume and prototype power electronic components.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Expert level experience (5+ yrs) designing switchmode DC-DC and offline power supplies and inverters in the 10W to 1kW range from the ground up.
- Proven product development experience.
- Analog electronics design capability.
- Experience designing to Telcordia and UL requirements.
- Competent in the use of MS Office software and other technical drawing and analysis software.
- Strong analog and digital circuit design background.
- Strong background in reliable power electronic systems.
- Well organized team player.
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
Travel:
Will require some travel to customer locations or suppliers.
