Job Title: Product Development Engineer
Job Summary:
To develop new and existing high performance, high quality, robust, manufacturable and cost effective battery module product designs from concept through to product release, in cooperation with the product engineering core team and all other areas departments, in the shortest possible time.
Responsibilities:
- Concept development and evaluation for functionality, performance, robustness and manufacturability
- Solid modeling and FEA analysis of complete product and components
- Calculations and preliminary analysis of key parameters (eg stress, heat rejection, thermal expansion, tolerances, clearances)
- Internal and external supplier and customer interface for tooling, process, equipment and application packaging
- Sample and prototype build of components and assemblies
- Interface with all other core and extended team members to ensure timely and coordinated progress leading to successful product development
- Verify documentation and release package
- Ad hoc projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
- 3D CAD solid modeling and FEA experience, preferably SOLIDWORKS and COSMOS
- Knowledge and experience with plastics mold tooling, metal forming
- Good knowledge of GD&T;
- Proficient in MS Office software
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
