Job Title: Battery Test Engineer
Job Summary:
The Battery Test Engineer is responsible for setting up and tracking battery tests requested by the Validation Engineer or other key technology or engineering personnel. The Engineer insures that battery tests are run in accordance to the test or validation plan. He/she directs the Lab Technicians in their daily activities.
Responsibilities:
- Insure the accuracy of test programs in accordance to the validation plan
- Develop new test procedures and computer algorithms
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date data base for batteries undergoing testing
- Maintain historical data log of battery testing
- Direct lab technicians to insure all tests are performing per validation plan
- Report battery test results on a timely fashion to Director, Advanced Product Development and other relevant engineering and sales staff
- Maintain a safe working environment around high voltage equipment
- Train lab technicians in safety procedures working in a high voltage environment
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience in validation testing, battery testing preferred
- Proficient in MS Office including working knowledge of Excel and Access
- Good written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate complex findings to broad audience
- Working knowledge of electrical principles
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in team environment
- Self-motivated with ability to work with minimum supervision
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
