Job Title: Purchasing Manager
Job Summary:
The role of the Purchasing Manager is to be a service to manufacturing and engineering by ensuring that the capital equipment, material and service requirements of the Company are acquired in a manner that allows for the lowest possible cost consistent with quality and specifications for that equipment, material or service. The Purchasing Manager also ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures for purchase orders, sales orders, receipt of goods and services, and proper data entry of purchasing information into the Axapta database.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing and maintaining supplier relationships and performance.
- Coordinate activities with finance, accounting and engineering to ensure accuracy of information.
- Coordinate activities with the ECD Purchasing department when appropriate for capital equipment, durable tools and contract for services.
- Establish blanket purchase orders with suppliers to facilitate ongoing requirements for goods and services.
- Expedite orders and follow up to ensure performance.
- Instruct all staff on policies and procedures relating to purchasing.
- Maintain necessary files within the Axapta system.
- Negotiate prices with suppliers.
- Review all requisitions and purchase orders for accuracy prior to entry into Axapta and transmittal to suppliers.
- Review proposed terms and conditions, and suggest changes to protect the interests of the Company.
- Submit RFQ's for experimental materials, services and production material for all locations.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Strong attention to detail
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
