Job Title: Comptroller
Job Summary:
The role of the Comptroller is to assist the Chief Financial Officer in the planning and accounting functions of the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all accounting functions
- Establish, maintain, improve and document of the Company's accounting policies and procedures to position the Company to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Work with the Quality group to ensure that adequate documentation exists or is created to support the Company goal of the TS16949 certification
- Work collaboratively with the various Company departments to prepare budgets and Business Plans
- Work with ChevronTexaco (the tax partner for the partnership) on income tax and Research Tax Credit matters
- Provide information to Energy Conversion Devices (ECD) for inclusion in ECD's 10-Q and 10-K filings
- Work with external auditors to prepare annual audited financial statements
- Recommend actions to be taken to position the Company for a future IPO
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- CPA required
- At least ten years of experience in progressive accounting role, management experience preferred
- IPO experience desirable
- Sarbanes-Oxley experience desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with one or more ERP systems required. Experience with Axapta software preferred
- Detailed-oriented with strong analytical skills and proficient spreadsheet capabilities
- Strong management skills and organization skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
