Job Title: Manufacturing/Process Engineer
Job Summary:
The role of the Process Engineer is to manage time and priorities independently and effectively as a member of various teams. As a member of the Process Engineering team, he/she supports daily production, improves existing processes, reduces costs, and troubleshoots equipment/process issues. As part of the Product Development team, he/she plans production processes, selects equipment, assists design decisions, generates production documentation, validates operations, develops suppliers, and handles a broad spectrum of process development elements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects for new equipment introduction, cost estimating, procuring capital equipment, and project management through launch.
- Support daily production and operators
- Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods.
- Identify, manage, and execute improvement projects
- Maintain accurate files, records, studies and reports and share information appropriately.
- Troubleshoot machine/process issues.
- Participate on product development teams, furnishing input for the development of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Process Failure Mode & Effects Analyses (PFMEA), and Advanced Planning Quality Plans (APQP).
- Working with Quality and Purchasing to qualify equipment suppliers.
- Keep informed on developments in battery technology, equipment, manufacture of parts and assemblies; applies advancements to present and proposed products.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Ability to analyze, organize and communicate information effectively.
- Superior technical analysis and problem solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of APQP
- Experience in design of automation for high volume production.
- Experience in production of batteries, specifically NiMH, is an asset.
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
