Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
Job Summary:
Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to eliminate and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological or ergonomic factors. May conduct inspections and enforce laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. Limited travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Assure and monitor the company�s health, safety, and environmental standards for compliance with applicable laws and regulations (OHSA, EPA, Workers Compensation, etc.)
- Continuously maintain working knowledge of new regulations in the industry
- Develop and train employees relating to standards and policies (ergonomics, safety training, education programs, emergency response,
- Support the operator
- Survey, compile, and analyze data relating to occupational and environmental health and safety issues.
- Analyze effectiveness of safety programs and procedures
- Inspect facilities and equipment for regulatory compliance
- Maintain measurements and routinely report on safety audits, incident frequencies, lost time frequency, incident investigation, system deficiencies, and assure corrective action steps are implemented
- Ensure that environmental, health and safety policies, procedure and work instructions are developed and maintained in a manner consistent with ISO, QS and TS quality standards and are stored in the company QSI system
- Maintain, analyze, and develop worker�s compensation programs
- Ad hoc projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor�s degree or equivalent work experience
- Understanding of all manufacturing related facets
- Production, Maintenance, Engineering
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, TS16949 and TL9000 System Standards
- Good communication skills both written and oral
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
